Not wanting to be forgotten is such an intense human emotion. Being forgotten is probably more frightening than the end itself. I'm glad I got to remember Aunt Elizabeth with you, this was a great tribute.

That was beautiful. I’m reminded of how I wanted my grandfather’s six volumes of Graetz’s History of the Jews. My cousin still has it. But I have my grandpa in my heart.

What a lovely remembrance. On the "correct" name issue, I think the view expressed in the footnote is the correct one. And what more beautiful name than "house of God," anyway? Thank you for sharing this, and so beautifully written, too.

I'm touched by your love and caring for your step grandmother/aunt. It's clear that she loved you all very much and you have brought her memories and love into your adulthood. May her neshama have an aliyah.
